The surprise action hit of 2012, The Raid: Redemption, was just a non-stop action movie that kept most moviegoers on their toes from start to finish. Its director, Gareth Evans, promises to be an even bigger hit with the expected release of its sequel, The Raid 2: Berandal (Retaliation) with an even bigger budget, a more star-studded cast, and of course, more than one location for the various scenes in the movie.

In Berandal, Iko Uwais who plays the same role as "Rama", was made to go undercover to protect his family from possible retaliation from a ruthless crime family in Jakarta and also to uncover corruption in the police force . This meant that he had to be arrested after the Raid in order to be close to a son one of the crime families. From there, the trailer was provides an gripping overview on what Rama will face with criminals ready to resort to violence anytime.

The Raid: Redemption whilst was more of an independent film opens the door on Indonesian martial arts Pencak Silat which is deadly and very effective in close quarters combat. In Berandal, we see more of it  and more weapons. For the first time we see more car chases and more locations --- an indication that this is a more big budget film resulting from the success of the first film. If Berandal succeeds, then we'll be expecting a third film according to Evans.

We know the movie is gory and violent that it is not recommended for the whole family to watch. But its action scenes show unique moves not seen in other action movies and which will be expected again by those who have watched the first film, thus there is high expectation for this film to deliver. Count us in here at Popular Airsoft to be one of the first to watch once this released in March 2014.
