Smith & Wesson has unveiled a new line of pistols designed to cater to a wide range of users, from everyday carry enthusiasts to those seeking a reliable training or home defense option. The Performance Center M&P9 Carry Comp Series pistols boast several features that enhance performance and user experience.
The Carry Comp Series offers a versatile selection across frame sizes, catering to individual preferences. The Shield Plus model with its 4-inch barrel bridges the gap between micro-compact and compact carry options. With its interchangeable magazine capacities of 10, 13, and 15 rounds, users can find the perfect balance between size and firepower for concealed carry.
The M&P 2.0 series comes in both compact and full-size configurations, with metal or polymer frame choices. These pistols offer a trusted platform for training and personal defense, with the standard metal version having a capacity of 17 rounds.

The standout feature of the Carry Comp Series is the innovative "Power Port" located at the top of the barrel. This port redirects gas upwards, minimizing felt recoil. This translates to improved control and faster follow-up shots, a critical advantage in any defensive situation. It's worth noting that Smith & Wesson previously utilized the "Carry Comp" designation for a special edition revolver, displaying the company's continued commitment to exploring compensated handgun designs.

For those who prefer red dot sights, the Carry Comp Series offers optics-ready slides with the new "ClearSight" cut. This innovative design channels gas away from the optic, ensuring a clear sight picture during operation. Traditional iron sight users are also catered to, with a tritium front night sight and blacked-out rear sight providing a clear sight picture in various lighting conditions.
The Carry Comp Series boasts an aggressive aesthetic with redesigned slide serrations for enhanced manipulation, even in adverse conditions. The pistols ship with Performance Center cleaning kits, and the full-size M&P 2.0 models come with interchangeable grip inserts for a more customized fit.
The M&P9 Carry Comp Shield Plus starts at an MSRP of $649, while the M&P 2.0 variants range from $799 for the compact to $999 for the full-size metal frame model. With its combination of innovative features, user-centric design, and competitive pricing, the Performance Center M&P9 Carry Comp Series pistols are poised to be a compelling option for concealed carry, training, and home defense.
