Remington got awarded last 20th of September by the US Army to upgrade the existing M24 sniper rifles and rebarrel them from the 7.62mm NATO to .300 Winchester Magnum according to Military Times.
Not going by the usual conventions of crane stock batteries, Tokyo Marui have redesigned their NiMH battery to fit such stock battery compartment, and it's a cinch changing batteries, especially in the middle of a firefight. Many reviewers have complimented Tokyo Marui for such a radical departure, eschewing cheaper airsoft battery making processes in the name of convenience. That's how M4 batteries should be made.
One thing that always gets a prominent billing in our stories is about safety, and of course, related injuries to airsoft as we always stress again, again, and again that safety is paramount when playing airsoft. We also stress that while you can scrimp on costs on other aspects of airsoft, you should not but such a Scrooge when spending on safety equipment. Even with Marshals, chrono precautions, and safety instructions given to you by airsoft events organisers, at the end of the day, your safety equipment will determine how you will pull through in any game.
The American-made Ruger SR9c was awarded as the "Handgun of the Year" by the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence for the third straight year. The compact version of the SR9 was given this award last July 2010. It's the best compact handgun in the market today with safety features and an adjustable triple dot system, setting it apart from other compacts that rely on fixed sights.
You might be thinking of a new Bat plane direct from Gotham City to be part of the US Air Force arsenal as Bruce Wayne gets bored with his vehicles and prefers to fly rather than be ferried in a limo or in his bat mobile when he dons on his batsuit. Sorry to disappoint you folks, but it's about a program of the US Air Force designed to equipped special operations troops of the branch to lessen the weight of their loadout with more high tech tools that can be used in long range operations, para rescue, or seizing of vital airsoft fields during war.
2010 is not really a good year for Philippine-based airsoft players. They just had a long gun ban for their national elections which was 5 months, and another gun ban will take effect for their Barangay (village) and SK (Youth Council) elections that will happen on the 25th of October 2010. The gun ban will not be long this time, and the ban will be in effect from 25 September up to 10 November 2010. It's just a bit over a month. But if you put the total, the Philippine airsoft community was able to enjoy airsoft games for 6 months.
While everybody's attention is focused on the new releases on the gas blowback area, we at Popular Airsoft have been more keen on focusing on what we think to be the highlight in terms of electric airsoft gun technology this year. ICS has now officially announced the release of their ICS MX5-Pro series, and this took them over a year in the making, ensuring that what they have envisioned and designed were produced according to their design specifications.
Another Pistol to Carbine conversion kit now available. We gave heard about the RONI earlier on, but we did not know much what happened to it, when its original developer CAA Tactical, got bought by EMA Tactical, which is based in Israel. But then EMA Tactical has a good history of making rifle parts and accessories and got to work on the RONI. They just announced recently that they're now taking orders for the RONI that can accept Glock pistols.
Surfing the web to get some airsoft stories or news, I happened to have googled airsoft in Indonesia and have come across this. It is about a report of the Brussels-based International Crisis Group urging the Indonesian government to conduct an arms audit as "illicit arms" are a cause to worry and reinforce existing rules and regulations governing the use and ownership of firearms.
I hope you enjoyed Optimus Prime's account of the Ground Zero 2010 Weekender and all the photos that Popular Airsoft has published here for you to download for your own use. I was going over the photos at the Facebook page of Popular Airsoft and of course, looking at the photos that he had selected for the story, there were two photos that I noticed --- two players having their stuffed animals in their backpacks.
