Laylax Customising The Tokyo Marui MP7A1

Laylax shows aftermarket upgrade parts designed to modify both the gas blowback (GBB) and electric (AEG) versions of the Tokyo Marui MP7A1. The representative breaks the demonstration down into two distinct approaches, highlighting how specific modifications can improve the external utility, weight management, and overall ergonomics of each platform.

For the gas blowback version, the emphasis is placed on ruggedness and tactile handling. Key upgrades include an enlarged aluminum charging handle that plays nice with gloved hands, lightweight rail panels that slim down the profile, a shortened outer barrel attachment that closes the gap with muzzle devices, and a handy cap that deletes the off-side fire selector to prevent accidental switching. It turns out the gun can be made to look incredibly sharp while shedding weight in places you wouldn’t expect.

The second half focuses on the electric version, aiming to build a setup so light it rivalries a standard handgun. By swapping in a carbon fiber suppressor and combining it with lightweight top and side rails, the gun drops considerable weight—tipping the scales at just over nine hundred grams if you opt to run it without the folding stock. A specialized single-sided fire selector is also introduced to keep you from accidentally switching to safe mid-game, and he reveals upcoming custom triggers and lightweight bolt projects.
