It is based on a typical layout of the M700 a Remington M700 (model 700) has been manufactured since 1962 by the eponymous brand and is certainly the most widely used bolt-action rifle in the USA. Descendant of the P17 / US 1917 Enfield, Remington modified the mechanics so much that this design is still the basis of many tactical rifles today.

The USMC was among the first to use it as a precision rifle. The M40 used in Vietnam and the M24 have moreover been built on a base of Remington 700. This TAC-41 by Silverback is therefore a reworked base of the M700 having an upper picatinny rail and an M-LOK handguard allowing to fix a multitude of accessories on this sniper.
