The Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 4.3 has officially gone "Direct Optics Ready" (DOR), trading in its blocky heritage for a more streamlined, semi-compact frame. This new 4.3-inch slide isn't just for show; it’s designed specifically to host a Micro Pro Sight. You can mount your optic low by swapping out the rear sight or use the included high-mount base if you prefer a bit of elevation. They’ve even tucked in a backup iron sight for those "low battery" moments, though you'll have to pick between the glass and the irons—you can't use both at once.
To keep things from getting slippery, the slide features front serrations and subtle ribs, making it easier to rack even with an optic taking up real estate. The redesign also ditches the old "square" grip for a more ergonomic, rounded shape that actually fits the human hand. Combined with a flat short trigger and an extended slide stop, it seems the engineers finally decided that high-performance airsoft shouldn't feel like holding a literal brick.
Under the hood, this model borrows the heavy-hitting blowback engine from its predecessor. It maintains a short-recoil system that keeps the action stable even with the added weight of a red dot. To ensure the plastic slide doesn't give up the ghost after a few matches, a metal notch spacer has been integrated to absorb the impact of the slide lock. It’s a bit like giving the gun a pair of internal kneepads.
Rounding out the package is a 28-round die-cast magazine designed to handle the cold better than most players do. Between the sci-fi aesthetic and the practical hardware upgrades, the 4.3 DOR is clearly aimed at those who want the speed of a race gun without the cumbersome length of a full-sized competition pistol. It’s compact, optics-friendly, and ready to go—assuming your aim is as sharp as the new grip texture.
