Hyperdouraku: Vintage Airsoft Review: Kokusai Llama Omni

Daisuke Kobori reviews for Hyperdouraku an airsoft pistol introduced in 1987, the air-cocking Llama Omni made by Kokusai. Intro is a rough translation of the text (in Japanese)... "LLama is a long-established Spanish firearms manufacturer. In the early 1960s, the first toy gun in Japan was a government-type metal model gun made by Tokyo CMC, a model gun maker that was no longer available. About 20 years later, Llama's toy gun that came back to the world was the Kokusai's Rama Omni.

The launch style is caseless pull-type air cocking, and this is the second Kokusai product after Colt Government. At that time, most of the air cocking guns were waribashi type thin magazines and products made delicate overall, the Kokusai series was clearly a real line that set it apart from the others, and the price was more than doubled was there.

The Llama Omni also has a wide-sized magazine (although it was a bit small to call it full-size), and despite the heavy use of metal parts, it is a model gun manufacturer product. Of particular note is the decocking mechanism, which was a unique selling point for an air cocking gun that could safely lower the hammer by operating the safety lever.

However, it had a fairly strong piston spring to gain power, and as a result did not get the level of accuracy that the user wanted, and because of many failures, it did not lead to a hit. However, Llama's toy gun is still the last one, so in that sense it might be a valuable model."
