A 10-second slow-mo footage by Gaosen Kinetics as he tests short strokes for the Hi-Capa Gas Blowback Pistol series... "I’m doing a bit of testing of short stroke setups for Hi-Capas, both because I want to be able to make good builds for customers and advise them on an optimal setup using existing parts on the market, and because I’m looking to develop a short stroke kit for hi capas with parts that are actually backed by thorough experimentation.

At the risk of showing my hand before I release anything, I thought I’d show some of the proof-of-concepts for my tests, because I think some people might be interested in the footage.

Here I’m doing checks on a test that’s purely of cycling speed with various setups, to see that my camera captures correctly and gives me usable footage/data.
You should try watching a few times and paying attention to a couple at a time, as otherwise you can’t really watch all four at once haha. Watch the cycling speed, behavior of the nozzle, etc.

A few things to note:

• This is with a TM 4.3 Extreme full auto Hi-Capa base replica, an Airsoft Masterpiece Battlecat 4.3 aluminum slide, and CCT aluminum nozzle. The Alu slide + nozzle + stock zinc full auto BBU makes the cycling weight fairly heavy.
• Full auto is to show the cycling speed more clearly and eliminate the variable of trigger pull speed.
• No bbs are being fed in this test, which will impact the cycling speed.
• I’m holding this at an awkward angle and not necessarily consistent grip, so it’s best to disregard the visual appearance of recoil. I’ll be doing separate tests on recoil, both with a consistent grip, and tests where the replica is held fixed in a vise. Despite the appearance of the recoil, this setup shoots very accurately, which you can see here.
• This was run with green gas for simplicity because it’s just a proof-of-concept; I’ll be doing tests with HPA and co2 as well."
