The Patrol Base TV team takes a look at the pre-built HPA Strike Industries Gridlok rifles, which arrive ready for action without needing a technician's intervention. These updated models feature the Wolverine Gen 2 Inferno engine and are recognizable by the air lines peeking out from the grip. Available in both long and short versions, they offer a variety of colorful accents for those who want their gear to stand out on the field, though a classic black look remains an option for the more traditionally minded player.
The hardware includes practical features like a linear compensator and Strike Industries magazines that use bright red indicators to show when they are empty, which is a handy trick for keeping track of your ammo in the heat of a game. While the battery space is now occupied by a small JST connector to power the engine, the rifles retain their M-LOK compatibility and rotary hop-up systems. The host notes that the shorter version is a bit tight on rail space near the front, so you might have to be selective about which gadgets you attach.
During range testing, the rifle proves it can reach targets at significant distances right out of the box with just a quick hop-up adjustment. The adjustable power levels and trigger settings make it a versatile choice for different play styles, from rapid-fire CQB to more patient long-range setups. They also do a demonstration of the consistent flight path of the BBs, leaving the choice of color and barrel length up to the individual's personal taste.
