Prime Guns Is the Rossi Striker MOS-Ready?

Prime Guns goes over the Rossi Striker, a 6mm Green Gas Blowback airsoft pistol modeled after the Glock G17. It features a full-metal slide, a polymer frame, fiber-optic sights, and a metal magwell funnel that gives it a hefty weight of 835 grams. Available in both black and gold versions, this model includes a magazine with a bumper baseplate and fires at around 312 FPS. It looks and feels ready for tactical use right out of the box.

The main plot twist of this model involves its supposedly Modular Optic System (MOS) design. While it features an optic cut and two external screws on the slide, the host discovers that these parts are purely aesthetic rather than functional. The screws are too short to hold anything, and the optic plate is essentially an illusion. Prime Guns learns this the hard way after a complicated teardown, realizing that even the manufacturer, Rossi, seemed surprised by this design choice.

Because mounting a red dot requires structural modification—such as widening holes or forcing screws, he advises against it until official guidance is released. Forcing an unapproved optic onto the slide could cause mechanical stress or void the warranty, which is a great way to turn a new airsoft gun into an expensive paperweight. For now, users are better off enjoying the pistol in its original form with its perfectly fine raised iron sights.
